National Institute of Technology (Regional Engineering College) (REC) (NIT) - Warangal It is 40 years since the Regional Engineering College, Warangal has been in existence. It has been constantly updating curriculum and actively pursuing research and consultancy act

FACTS

The Regional Engineering College, Warangal was established in 1959 and was the first in the chain of 17 RECs in the country.
RECs are jointly sponsored by the Central Government and the Government of the State in which a given REC is located.
Over the years a number of academic support centres/cells have also been added to the conventional academic departments. These are Units like the Centre for Educational Technology, Entrepreneurship Development Cell, Industrial Liaison Cell etc.

Electrical Engineering Department:
Power Systems Engineering
Electrical Machines & Industrial Drives

Mechanical Engineering Department:
Design & Production Engineering (Machine Tools)
Design & Production of I. C. Engines & Gas Turbines
Computer Integrated Manufacturing (Self-financed) (Graduates in Industrial Engineering also eligible)
Advanced Manufacturing Processes (Self-financed) (Graduates in Industrial/Mettallurgical Engineering also eligible)

Electronics & Communication Engineering Department:
Electronic Instrumentation (Graduates in Electrical/Bio-Medical/Computer Sci. & Engineering also eligible)
VLSI System Design (Graduates in Computer Science & Engg. also eligible)

Metallurgical Engineering Department:
Industrial Metallurgy (Graduates in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering also eligible)

Chemical Engineering Department:
Chemical Engineering (Computer Aided Process Equipment Design)

M.Tech. (By Research) In all Engineering disciplines listed above except Computer Science & Engineering, VLSI System Design and Programmes offered on Self-financed basis. (Only for candidates working in Industry)
M. Sc. Courses:

Mathematics & Humanities Department:
M. Sc. (Applied Mathematics) - 2 years duration

Physics Department:
M. Sc. (Tech.) Engineering Physics - 3 years duration (Streams of study in Photonics / Electronics/Instrumentation)

Chemistry Department:
M. Sc. (Industrial Chemistry) - 2 years duration (Specialization in Dyes, Drugs, Pharmaceuticals and Pesticides) (Only for candidates belonging to Andhra Pradesh)
M.Sc. (Industrial Chemistry)- 2 yrs. duration (Self-financed) (Specialization in Modern Methods of Chemical Analysis)
M. C.A. Course: (3 years duration)
Candidates of Andhra Pradesh State and other States will be admitted on the basis of the Rank obtained at MCACet to be conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad, A.P and should have studied Mathematics / Statistics as one of the subjects at the qualifying degree level.
Master of Science in Information Technology(MSIT)
Centre for Management Studies(CMS) offers MBA (2 yrs) with a dual specialization programme with any 2 of the following areas:
Financial Management
Marketing Management
Human Resource Management
Operations Management
Information Technology & Management Systems
